For 2019 ... if your AGI is $69K or less there are 10 FREE FILE partners to choose from thru the IRS FREE FILE link ...     https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free

How Free File Offers Work

Choose an IRS Free File option from a partner company, prepare and file your federal tax return on their site, and get an email when we accept your return.

IRS Free File Program offers the most commonly filed forms and schedules for taxpayers.

IRS Free File partners are online tax preparation companies that offer IRS Free File at no cost to qualifying taxpayers. The partners are part of the Free File Alliance, which coordinates with the IRS to provide their services to you This non-profit, public-private partnership is dedicated to helping millions of people prepare and file their federal taxes online for free.

The IRS does not endorse any individual partner company.

AND....Please note    that the IRS FreeFile software provided by TurboTax, is different from the Turobotax "Free Edition"  with a nearly identical name.

1)  The "Free Edition" accessed from the normal TTX web page is limited to very, very, very simple tax returns with no itemized deductions, no self-employment income, and no investment income allowed. (some other restrictions too)...with no maximum AGI as long as you don't need any of the special forms.

2) The intuit version of the "IRS FreeFile" software allows investment income and itemized deductions, and most other tax forms, just as long as your AGI remains below the specified maximums...but the TTX version has a max $36,000 AGI for non-military users (not that you have to use the TTX version):
