You should have a W-2 if you were employed at any time during the year. "Retired" is a fuzzy term. Some people who consider themselves retired have a part-time or seasonal job, or do occasional work such as substitute teaching or being a poll worker for an election. Also, if you retired during the year, you should have a W-2 for the job you had at the beginning of the year, before you retired.
If you had any job in 2022 for which you would get a W-2, you should have gotten it by now. Employers are supposed to send W-2s to the employees by January 31 of the following year.
You would only receive a Form W-2 if you were working and had earned income from employment at any time during 2022. If you worked during 2022 and believe you should have received a Form W-2 you can ask you employer for a copy.
If you are retired and receiving distributions from your retirement plan you would be issued a Form 1099-R. This needs to be entered into TurboTax exactly as it is shown.
