If all I have is 1099 Social Security, why is it not recorded as income? I don't have a W2. Why can I not file electronically?

If all the income you are reporting a tax return is SS benefits received there is no need to file a tax return.
A tax return with no taxable income entered cannot be e-filed but would need to be printed and mailed.
If for some reason you want to file the return, then add $1 if interest income and then you can e-file the tax return.

Social security income alone is not taxable and is not counted as income on your tax return. Please view the TurboTax FAQ below for more information about social security income.
