I took a loan out of my 401k to pay for my husbands dental surgery and denture. Can I claim the amount that I paid the dental center on my taxes?

No. You cannot claim a medical deduction for expenses paid with pre-tax funds.

A 401(k) loan (if it's truly a loan and not a distribution) is not reportable the your tax return.  It has no effect on the deductibility of any expenses reportable on Schedule A.

The expense for dentures is a deductible medical expense.  Dental surgery would be a deductible medical expense as long as it is not considered to be cosmetic surgery.
