Why is "I took out this money because of a qualified disaster (includes COVID-19)" not listed as an option?
This option is not available for tax year 2021. It can only have been claimed on your 2020 tax return.
So they can force us into unemployment via lockdowns. Then, we do our best to scrape by for two years only to come to the end of our ropes in early 2021 and have to take an early distribution from our RIRA - just to survive. Only to find out that even though the lockdowns and pandemic are still going on, we don't qualify for any sort of tax relief for the situation that the government put us in.
Yeah, just another reason to Abolish the IRS!
