I took a 401k wd in 2019 then spread it over 20, 21, 22 years taxes. I checked my documents and it is there all 3 years. Why is 2023 telling me I need to claim it again?

When I started my taxes this year the message said I need to add 1/3 of my coronavirus loan to my income. I do not because I spent the last 3 years doing it. And it’s in the tax documents too.

More than likely the Form 8915-F Worksheet and the Form 8915-F transferred over from the 2022 tax return.  Delete these forms and also if a Form 1099-R transferred over delete that form.

  1. a disaster distribution is not a loan
  2. a withdrawal in 2019 has to be reported on your 2019 tax return not 2020.

Please make sure that you also delete the "Qualified 2020 Disaster Retirement Distr":

  1. Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
  2. In the left menu, select "Tax Tools" and then "Tools".
  3. In the pop-up window Tool Center, select "Delete a form".
  4. Select "Delete" next to "Form 8915-F" and "Qualified 2020 Disaster Retirement Distr" and follow the instructions.
