No, TurboTax will ask you about the rollover after you enter the 1099-R if it is not coded to show a trustee-to-trustee transfer and create the needed forms for your tax return.
Most pre-retirement payments you receive from a retirement plan or IRA can be “rolled over” by depositing the payment in another retirement plan or IRA within 60 days. You can also have your financial institution or plan directly transfer the payment to another plan or IRA.
Why is my rollover showing in my gross distributions. I did not cash out any of the money so why does it show that the money was distributed to me?
If you are looking at a summary screen or review screen those show the full amount as income and lump a lot of stuff together. You need to check your return and make sure it's right.
For 1099R check the actual 1040 line 4b or 5b for any taxable amount. If it was a rollover it should say ROLLOVER by the "b" line.
Or did you roll it over to a ROTH? Or did they take out any withholding? If you didn't replace the withholding with your own money the withholding will be a distribution.
