I reported my 1099-R (Retirement Pension) on my Federal Taxes but is not reported on SC state tax report (no tax was paid/due). Should it be?

I am on Disability SSDI and receive a Retirement Pension as well.  I have not paid into SC State Taxes for the last couple years because none have been due.  In printing the TurboTax report, I see both incomes are showing on the Federal Tax Report but only the SSDI is showing on the SC State Report.  Should the Pension be reported on the state?

South Carolina does not tax Social Security retirement benefits and has a $15,000 deduction for seniors receiving any other type of retirement income.

Is that $15,000 gross or AGI?

1099-R amounts ... they will reduce your retirement plan distributions.  Review the actual tax return including the worksheets in the PDF to see how this is calculated.

I guess what confuses me is my Pension and my SSDI are input into my Federal Tax Return but when I do the State through TT, only the SSDI is carrying through and reported to the state.  When I was having state taken from my Pension, I kept getting it all back so it was recommended I stop paying out to the state so now, I don't owe anything (nor get anything back) but its not using the Pension in the calculation.  Just nervous.

Sounds correct ... and you may not even have to file the state return IF you have no taxable income on the return ... again ...LOOK at the actual tax form to see what you have.
