We did that, and we did not get that question. It's counting it as taxable for state, even though it describes the income as not taxable.

For the distribution-from we don't get the selection screen at the end of the 1099-R. We filed KS outside of Turbotax because we couldn't figure out how to fix this. So, we are ok for 2022. We still want to resolve for next year. It Turbotax we get this page at the beginning of the 1099-R and select as indicated:
