I had IBM stock. I transferred in kind to Vanguard mutual funds. I did not redeem shares for cash. Is that a taxable event?

Is transfer in kind taxable?

if your vanguard statement of holdings shows NNN shares of IBM, then it is transferred nd there is no tax.

If the IBM shares are not there, you must have sold them.
