I am 73, employed with a 401K which does not require RMD. I transferred a large portion of the 401K to a Rollover IRA CD in 2016.Do I need an RMD for 2015?

I received no RMD requirement from the 401K administrator last year since none is required under the plan.  The bank holding the new IRA did not hold it in December of 2015, so they can't provide an RMD requirement.  Can I assume that none was required in 2016?

No RMD is required of this IRA for 2016.  You will have an RMD for this IRA for 2017 which must be satisfied by December 31, 2017.
