How to edit Student worksheet -when asked about drug felony or conviction the answer was NO or n/a. Once changed from no to n/a, my refund was reduced by over $1,500 why?

Originally was eligible for student American Opportunity Credit, but once changed answer from no to n/a on felony which definitively does not apply to my child, refund reduced & no longer eligble for that credit, WHY? How to edit this correctly to increase my refund back.

In the Education Expenses section under Deductions & Credits, EDIT the Student.

Scroll down the list of topics to Education Information and EDIT.

The only choices for 'felony drug conviction' are Yes or No (screenshot).
