How do I respond to a question on Part 1 of my Mass state tax which says I should enter info on my federal return, concerning tax-exempt pension?

We are not able to see your tax return. What does the question say? What kind of pension do you receive?

This Massachusetts Department of Revenue website states:

Pension and Retirement Income

Income from most private pensions or annuity plans is taxable in Massachusetts but many government pensions are exempt.
