I mailed my check for what I owed on 2016 taxes today on 4/15. Am I going to get fined if it doesn't get there on the 18yh?

No, if it is postmarked by the due date you will not be penalized!

How do I know if it was post marked? I sent it next day air delivery with ups.

You can use your receipt and UPS tracking info to show the mailing date
