You can file the amended return for free in TurboTax. You will see an option for that on your home page after you log in. You can start the amend return option to get back into your return to check on your IRA entry. If you don't want to complete the amended return, there is an option on the left menu bar to cancel the amended return.
Your IRA deduction would show up on line 20 of schedule 1 of your form 1040.
You can view your form 1040 and schedules 1 to 3 while working in the online version of TurboTax by following these steps:
Thank you @ThomasM125 . The field is blank for line 20 of schedule 1. Does that mean that my contribution didn't get submitted?
If you entered a deductible contribution to an IRA in TurboTax and you have $0 on line 20 of schedule 1, that would mean it is not listed on your tax return. You still have time to make the contribution by the due date of your tax return though. If you haven't file it yet, go back and enter the contribution again. Otherwise, you will see an option to prepare an amended return in TurboTax on your home page.
Thank you @ThomasM125 , I did already file it and it was accepted by all agencies.
Is there any way for me to go into the part of TurboTax where I entered all of my information and answered questions? At this point I just want to know for sure whether or not it captured my IRA contribution and if it didn't I won't make the contribution.
To amend at this point I'd have to pay all of the fed and state filing fees again, correct?
