I assume that one of your distribution codes in box 7 on your 1099-R is "D". As a result, TurboTax keeps asking what kind of qualified plan you have when it's actually a non-qualified annuity.
This is a known issue. Please see this TurboTax Help page, and sign up to be notified for updates.

Any idea how long it will take Turbotax to fix this issue?
This is also happening to me and I am doing this on Saturday 3/15/25. When I click the link in the reply, it says it is already resolved. This is not resolved. Thank you for your assistance with this matter.
Also my code in Box 7 is not D, it is 7 and it keeps looping to a 403(b) or other qualified retirement plan.
Thank you
Your experience has been forwarded to our TurboTax developers and they are working on a resolution. There should be a resolution by the end of next week. Thank you for bringing to our attention.
Will this problem be resolved quickly. Otherwise I need to move in a different direction. It's the end of the week that was supposed to be the date of the fix. What's the status?
Thanks in advance for a prompt reply.
This is not fixed and I’m having issues as well.
This issue was fixed. If you are using TurboTax Desktop please make sure you updated the software.
You might have to delete and reenter your Form 1099-R. If you use TurboTax Online please clear your cache and delete your cookies before reentering Form 1099-R.
This problem is NOT resolved. I purchased TurboTax desktop for Mac, Home & Business 2024. It is still requiring me to make the same choice described above. I have downloaded the latest updates. When will this be fixed?
