Form 1099r my wife is a retired teacher in Georgia,under 59 1/2 and retired with 30 yr we are being penalized 10-12% on top Fed and State taxes , what do we to fix this?

didn't help, it appears that the system is not seeing where the money is a distribution that she earned and shouldn't be penalized. it is taking a 3700 refund and making it that we owe 5600, that aint right, so how do we fix this

There are exceptions to the 10% Early Withdrawal Penalty.

One being 'separation from service if age requirement is met'.

Type '1099r' in the FIND window, and 'Jump to 1099r' to check your entries.
