Yes. TurboTax calculates the self-employment tax as part of your return. Self-employment tax (SE tax) is the Social Security and Medicare tax paid by self-employed individuals. It is similar to FICA which is the Social Security and Medicare taxes withheld from an employee’s paycheck.
The self-employment tax is included with any regular tax on your 1040. Any payments you make with your return go straight to the IRS.
