No.  You can enter a 1099R into all versions both the Desktop program  (current year and prior years)  and the Online version for the current year.    You are using the Desktop program for 2022, right?  You can't use the Online version.  

 

Enter a 1099R under
Federal Taxes
Wages & Income
Then scroll way down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
Then IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R) – Click Start

And...understand that a 2022 return cannot be e-filed.  It must be sent in by mail.

 

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  If your 1099R shows tax withheld you must attach a copy to your Form 1040 when you mail it.   Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

 

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
