That's right. You'll enter the FULL amount of Box 5 from your SSA-1099. TurboTax will accurately calculate the entire worksheet and only include in income what you are required to report. Putting 50% of the Box 5 amount will invite a bill from the IRS.
You can see the difference between the whole amount reported on Line 20a of the 1040 and the taxable part on Line 20b. You can check the below along with the Social Security Benefits worksheet before you file.
Note: Depending on your income up to 85% of your Social Security can be taxable. However, you'll never have to pay taxes on 100% of the benefits. It happens to be one of the trickier worksheets in taxes.
