My wife and I only have social security. I need tax forms to show real estate tax office for tax relief program. Can I download forms and file zero charge for this purpose?

Can you prepare your return if you have only Social Security income ? Yes. Turbotax will work out the taxable portion ( probably zero) and enter that on the proper forms. You can print out sign/date and show that to the county / city property tax people. Note though that if your Adjusted Gross Income is zero, then you cannot e-file. Usually people enter interest income of a $1 to by pass this restriction. Additionally, if the AGI is zero you do not need to file a return anyways ( other than perhaps to show to your city taxing authority).
