Can failure to file the 8843 form on time as an F-1 student affect my chances to apply for permanent status ?

If so, what can I do besides filing it late ?

Sorry this forum is mainly for tax questions -- IRS and ICE are not related. Just go ahead and file the 8843 for 2018 -- file by mail. Good Luck
