Because I have a pension TurboTax is not letting me deduct my $6500 IRA contribution

 Because I receive the state teachers retirement pension Akron public schools checks retirement plan in box 13 of the W-2 because of that and the fact that I made $143,000 with my wife it is not allowing me to deduct my IRA contribution of $6500

If you are covered by a pension plan at work, which is indicated by the x in Box 13, W-2, then your income is too high to deduct your IRA contribution. If the information on your W-2 is incorrect, you would need a corrected W-2.
