1099R in 2019 then again in 2020

If I claimed the 401K excess amount in 2019 taxes without actually receiving a 1099R and now I have received a 1099R in 2020. Do I need to claim it again or can I dismiss the 2020 1099R by leaving it out in my 2020 taxes?

1099R in 2019 then again in 2020

If you have already reported your 2019 excess 401(k) contribute (and related earnings) on your 2019 tax return, then you do not report it again when you receive a form 1099-R for 2020. You can ignore that form 1099-R. That form 1099-R should be coded P in box 7.
