1099-R

I just received a 1099-R for 2023 - The distribution code in box 7 is G since I rolled it over into a new plan. I have already filed my taxes for 2023. Do I need to amend them?

When the Form 1099-R has code G, TurboTax does not present the question mentioned by JohnB5677.  In the absence of indicating that the rollover was to some kind of Roth account, TurboTax automatically treats it as a nontaxable rollover.

With this being a nontaxable rollover ($0 in box 2a), there is no point to amending your tax return since the tax liability does not change.  Just be sure to retain records of this rollover that you can provide to the IRS if they ever question the rollover.

You don’t have to amend if there is no change in tax liability.

I don't believe there is. Box 2a, the taxable amount is 0.00

More importantly,

In the interview, did you indicate when it asked "What did you do with the money" did you say "You rolled it over into another plan."

If non of the values changed, you should not have a problem.

1099-R

I didn't receive the 1099-R until after I completed filing. I didn't know it was coming. The rollover should have happened in 2022 but was not done until the very beginning of 2023 and I forgot about it. So I didn't include it with my filing at all.
