The IRS cannot change payment information, including bank account or mailing information. If an eligible taxpayer does not get a payment or it is less than expected, it may be claimed on the 2020 tax return as the Recovery Rebate Credit.
My address didn’t change only my bank.. the bank will reject it.. will it come thru the Mail? Whole point of the stimulus is cause I need the money now.. some people haven’t even received their 2019 refund.
If the deposit is rejected due to a closed account then the IRS will convert to a check mailed to the address on the tax return. The fact that this may take longer is just how it is. If they don't get the check in the mail by 1/15 then you will be able to apply for the money on the 2020 return you will file soon.
