I'm pretty sure you have to use your original state for 2024 taxes...that we are all working on now.....it's not back-applicable for all of 2024....to my limited knowledge.
BUT seek Post legal services if you are uncomfortable with that OPINION.
______________
In my view:
On the date the DD2058 is accepted, your State of legal residence (SLR) changes as-of that date. You have effectively "moved" from the former state to the new one you are posted to now. You may have to file a part-year tax return for the former state for 2025....for any income up until the date that the DD2058 is accepted......and if your new state of legal residence (SLR) has an income tax, a 2025 part-year tax return for the new state too....and start state tax withholding if the new state taxes military income. Of course, all that 2025 stuff wouldn't be filed until 2026
