There are multiple ways resolve the issue with TurboTax repeatedly flagging your stock sale transactions for review:

First try the steps at this link

If those don't eliminate the review cycle below are some additional steps to delete the problematic entries and re-enter them manually using the search and jump link features in TurboTax Online:

Open or Continue Your Return:

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax account.
  2. On the Tax Home, select Start, Continue, or Pick up where you left off to enter your return.
  3. In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
  4. In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
  5. Select Delete next to the form, schedule, and worksheet in the list. For stock sales, this will typically be Form 1099-B.

Re-enter Stock Sale Transactions Manually:

  1. Use the search bar at the top of TurboTax to type in the form name (e.g., "1099-B").
  2. Click on the magnifying glass icon or press Enter.
  3. Click on the "Jump to" link highlighted in blue that appears in the search results. This will take you directly to the summary page where you can edit or re-enter your information.
  4. Enter the total proceeds (sales) and cost basis, along with the sales category. Refer to your 1099-B for the amounts and categories.

Summary Filing Suggestion

Consider using summary filing to avoid having to re-enter each sale individually. This can help prevent duplicates and streamline the review process. On the Investment summary screen,  be sure you delete any imported sales from your financial institution to prevent duplicates.

  • Enter the total proceeds (sales) and cost basis, along with the sales category. Refer to your 1099-B for the amounts and category.
