Should we report the sale of shares into two transactions on the 1099B? We added some additional shares to an inheritance. We sold it all in one transaction.

We reinvested dividends and purchased additional shares to the batch we inherited.

Inherited stock is considered Long Term Form 8949 Pg 2

The inherited date does not matter, it is the Box marked that controls.

Additional recent purchases and reinvested dividend with less than twelve months holding period are Short Term. Form 8949 Pg 1.
