Schedule E line 1. Its asking for an amount of rent received but we don't rent any property. We just receive royalties form a property owned by the whole family.

What do I put on line 1 for schedule E?

Please check your property profile to be sure you checked the box for Royalty and not Rental. Sometimes when you enter Form 1099-MISC, the wrong box is checked.

The easiest way to find this section in TurboTax Online, is to go to Tax Tools in the left column >> Tools >> Topic Search. Type in "schedule e", then click the topic in the list and then GO to go directly to the start of that section.

In TurboTax for Desktop, open your return and use the Search box at the top right side of the TurboTax header. Click on the magnifying glass, type in the topic you need, hit Enter, and click the "jump to" link to go directly to beginning of that topic.
