My son got a letter from tic tick that he had to royalty for 2024 well he doesn’t understand he doesn’t have tic tick on his phone and doesn’t know what they are talking about he hasn’t received no money from them

Hopefully the letter is in error and you will hear no more about the matter.

Should your son receive an IRS form from Tik Tok reporting income, contact the issuer and request that the IRS form be corrected or voided.  Retain any correspondence that supports your argument.

In many cases, these errors are not corrected by the issuer.  Post here and someone will give you advice on:

• whether the income needs to be filed, or
• how the income can be reported and then reversed from your son's income tax return.
