Hello,
I just purchased my first rental property in Sept of 2024. I had $33,800 worth of work done to make it rent-ready and pass the property inspections to make it a rental. Do I need to depreciate the total over 27.5 years, or do I separate the capital items such as flooring, one new window, water heater, and furnace to depreciate them over their useful lives?
