only SELL transactions are reported on your tax return.
a stock split is not a sell order.
Thanks, @fanfare . "a stock split is not a sell order", you are right!
But this sales order is automatic input from brokerage tax statement and I noticed it shows "Cash/Lieu", can I remove it so it can finish the "review"?! Thanks for help!
This should be on a 1099-DIV.
What box ?
Hi @fanfare , this stock split is from something after I099-B,
OTHER TRANSACTIONS - Cost basis not reported to IRS - Form 8949, (X)
ps: some of them are showing under 1099-DIV
And this is not a sell order, I am thinking to review it. Thanks again!
It sounds like you had fractional shares of that stock and the broker sold it for you.
Figure your cost basis on one share of the stock and multiply by the fraction of a share you see there.
If it's long term your Box is E if it is short term your box is B
