My investment broker says my "Exempt interest Dividends" on my 1099-DIV are national, not by state. How do I report that?

TurboTax asks in which state were the dividends earned for state tax purposes.

On the screen that asks for the state, look on the state pull down menu and select "more than one state", probably the last entry in the list. That will fix it.
