Probably not. There generally isn't a deduction for home improvements made to your personal residence, although you might qualify for an energy credit if the bathroom renovation included the installation of energy efficient windows or skylights or an energy-efficient water heater. Home improvements may come into play when you sell your home because they're included in your home's adjusted cost basis. Please see the FAQs below for more information.

You can’t claim a tax credit for a standard $9,419 bathroom renovation unless it included energy-efficient upgrades (like a heat pump, insulation, or ENERGY STAR water heater). Only those parts may qualify under the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit. Regular cosmetic upgrades don’t count. Check receipts and use IRS Form 5695 if eligible.

A $9,419 bathroom renovation isn’t tax-deductible unless it included qualified energy-efficient upgrades (like an ENERGY STAR water heater or insulation). Only those portions may be eligible for a tax credit. Check if it qualifies under IRS Form 5695.

@user17525652822 suggest being mindful of the dates of these posts.  The original responses were from 2019, when the tax laws related to energy efficient items were different - and they are changing again going into 2026.
