Please clarify and expand on your question. Based on what you are asking, I believe you are residing in a state that gives you a deduction for rent paid. Generally, states that give a deduction for rent do not give a deduction for utilities if they are separately stated. If they are not separately stated in the monthly statement and/or lease agreement then the total payment can be considered rent. If one of the documents states X number of dollars for utilities is part of the rental payment then you would not include that amount in the rent paid.
