How to list multi-family on schedule E

On Sch E, I'm listing my multi-family property as individual units. So instead of just listing one multi-family unit, I am listing unit 1, unit 2, etc. This is the first year that I'm filing for this property. In turbotax, it asks if any of these situations apply to this property:

Rented:

  • I rent out part of my home
  • I rent out a unit in a multi-unit property (like a duplex) where I live

I do live in one of the units, but if I'm listing each unit as a individual property, then I shouldn't check either of the two options right? All my income and expenses are allocated individually, so I don't need Turbotax to do any calculations.

You are correct.  If you set up each unit as a separate property then you do indicate that you would not check either of those boxes.
