How do I enter rental of 100% of my home, not part of it

Please follow these steps to enter your rental income and expense for a rental property that was rented all year:

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account
  2. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “rental”
  3. Click on “Jump to rental”
  4. TurboTax will walk you through questions about the property, your income, and your expenses. Please read all questions carefully.

If you need additional help, please provide more details about your situation.

Please be aware, rent is considered income in the year you received it, not the year it applies to. This means that a rent payment for the month of January 2022 collected in December 2021 is reported on your 2021 return.

Please see Real Estate Tax and Rental Property for additional information.
