How can I find my capitol gains carryover loss from 2016 to 2017

If you used TurboTax last year the capital loss carryover should have transferred into the 2017 return.

You can check that it is entered by using these steps:

  1. On the Wages & Income page, in the Investment Income section, click the Start/Revisit box next to Capital Loss Carryover.  [Screenshot #1]
  2. On the screen, Let's get some info from your 2016 tax return, you should see the carryover from 2016.  You can make changes if necessary.  [Screenshot #2]
  3. The next screen, Capital Loss Carryover Summary, will summarize the carryover from 2016, the amount used in 2017, and the loss carried forward to 2018.  [Screenshot #3]
