Gas royalties are showing on both schedule c and schedule e being reported twice

To get your royalties listed on Schedule E:

  • Go to Federal > Wages & Income
  • Scroll down to the Other Common Income section
  • Click Revisit next to Form 1099-MISC
  • Then click Edit and Continue.
  • When you get to Source of 1099-MISC Income select Investment income from property you own. This puts the royalty income on Schedule E.
  • Proceed through the rest of the interview.
