Some details:
I have my wages at $255946 (around $5k of which went to traditional 401k), and I have $1689 of dividends and I have $797 of short term capital gain. And I also have $14199 as long term capital gains.
The effective blended tax rate for $272663 should be around 22-22.3% and if anything, long term capital gains should bring it down not up to 24%. It looks like Turbotax does not calculate long term capital gains correctly.
I have triggered AMT adjustment of $53000. I am assuming that I should be paying the higher taxes of the two but it looks like AMT somehow affected the calculation for LTCG.
