Do I need to file nonresident taxes in SC if the rental property had a loss this year? I am a resident of VA

If you received rental income from your property during 2018 then you are required to file a South Carolina state return even if you have a net loss. According to the South Carolina Department of Revenue, if you are a nonresident or part-year resident, you are generally required to file a South Carolina return if you work in South Carolina or are receiving income from rental property, businesses, or other investments in South Carolina.
