Can i return a savings bond?

I'd like to get my tax return deposited in my bank account but I've already signed up to buy savings bonds

EE Savings bonds must be held for at least 12 months before they can be cashed in.  If your return is accepted and processed with a bond order, I'm afraid you're stuck with them for a while.
