Are there any deductions or credits for a single renter in Seattle?

Yes. There are deductions you can take as a Single renter in Seattle on your federal tax return.

The renter's credit is only available at the State level.  Seattle does not have an income tax provision; therefore, you are not required to file a state return.

However, if you are self-employed, you may be able to take home office deductions on the Form 1040 Schedule C. The deductions include the business use of a designated office and allocated home expenses such as utilities and rent.

I have provided an Internal Revenue Service link that further explains the Home Office Deduction.

You may also be entitled to the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) if you meet the income requirements to claim the credit as a Single individual. Click this link EITC Assistant to help determine if you qualify for the credit.

If you are a student, there also may be several Education Credits you can claim.
