Solved

w2c

I received an incorrect w2 and my employer will not send me a corrected w2.  She won’t send me my paystubs either.  What should I do?

If your employer refuses to fix your W-2 you can contact the IRS at 800-829-1040 or you can visit a local Taxpayer Assistance Center.

You will be asking the IRS to start a Form W-2 complaint against your employer.  The IRS will mail a letter requiring your employer to send a correct form W-2 within ten (10) days.

You can use From 4852 which is a substitute for Form W-2 if the deadline approaches before you get the corrected W-2-C from your employer.  You would estimate your income and tax withholding as accurately as possible using your final pay stub.

As Jennifer said in her response, your best bet now is to use the Form 4852 and file your return by the deadline for extensions of 10-15-2026.

I already filed a complaint with the IRS.  Any further suggestions? Thank you!

Keep in mind that if you filed an extension, your tax return is due by October 15, 2026 and will be considered filed on time. You can use Form 4852 to file your tax return on time.
Depending on the nature of the correction, you may also consider filing a complaint with the US Department of Labor or your state labor agency.

Glad to be of service! Jennifer A.
