What if I don't have my form yet?

For the following 2 questions and questions like them:
- What if I don't have my form yet?
- Where do I find my forms?
Use the following content:
An assistant will be able to help you find and upload the forms and documents you need to file your taxes. If you're expecting multiple copies of a form, like W-2s or 1099s for example, let your assistant know. They can help you find them. You’ll need to share all your documents before an assistant can match you with an expert.
For W-2s, if it's past February 14:
- Call your employer and ask for a copy. Make sure they have your correct address.
- If you’re unable to get your Form W-2 from your employer, call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040. The IRS will ask you for some info and then follow up with your employer.
- After notifying the IRS, you can either continue waiting for your W-2 or you can paper-file your return using Form 4852 and your last 2023 pay stub. We'll walk you through that process.
For self-employed income:
If you were paid more than $600 in nonemployee compensation, the company or individual that paid you is required to send you a 1099-NEC by February 1. If that date has passed and you haven't received your 1099-NEC, you can still enter this income as other self-employed income. Select Other self-employed income here and include the company's full name under Type of income on the following page. For all other payment types over $600, you should receive a form from the payer but not necessarily by the end of January. This includes payments typically reported on forms 1099-MISC and 1099-K.
If you believe you were supposed to get a form, you should contact the company or individual responsible for paying you.
Most 1098/1099 forms become available in late January. This can vary depending on the type of form, the financial institution, and the time it takes TurboTax to incorporate the forms into the product. If you haven't received your forms by mid-February, ask for them from your financial institution. Many banks, financial institutions, state agencies, and other providers have an online portal where you can get digital copies of your tax forms. Just sign in to the portal and download the PDF version of your form. Once you have it saved to your device, you can drag and drop it into TurboTax or use Browse to upload it.
