EFile Transmission Error

I'm trying to e file my 2021 Federal and Rhode Island State tax. I'm getting the below message: "The Intuit Electronic Filing System is having difficulty recognizing the data in the return you are sending. Tax Year 2021 transmissions are not available - Turbo Tax is not ready to process Tax Year 2021 for this return".

I thought efile opened on January 24, 2022. I've checked my software for updates as well. Are we not able to efile yet for tax year 2021?

I'm having the same problem in NC, my Fed. was accepted but the state was delayed. I was contacted by Turbo Tax by email and in a statement it was reported that the proper NC tax forms were now available. So, all day i've been trying to transmit the return to no avail. Each time i get the message Tax year 2021 transmissions are not available

If you want to e-file your federal tax return now then change how you file the NC state return. This assumes that all of the forms and schedules included in your federal tax return are available for e-filing.

If using the TurboTax online editions click on File on the left side of the online program screen. On Step 3 of the File section click on Start or Revisit. Select the button File by Mail. Then change the filing status of the state return.

After the federal return is e-filed and accepted by the IRS you can e-file the state return when it is available for e-filing. Just use the same procedure and change the state return back to e-filing.”

I’m getting the same message. At first TurboTax said I was missing forms and they would email them to me. Got my email this morning and went to finish in filing and all I keep getting is “tax year 2021 transmissions unavailable.” Would love to know why. I’m in North Carolina and I see a lot of issues with RI but, what’s going on??

I received the emailed that the form I needed to file my NC state return was ready on 02/11/2022. When I tried to submit the return, it said that 2021 transmission was not available. When will it let me file the state return?

The North Carolina Individual Income Tax Return Form D-400 is not yet available for e-filing. It is estimated to be available on 02/24/2022

I have the same error when trying to efile my federal and state taxes. I am in North Carolina.

Also same issue in NC. First Turbo tax was late with the NC tax forms and now I can't file. This will be the last year ever that I use Turbo Tax. So pissed off.

Problem’s nor TurboTax it’s NC DORevenue…have used TurboTax for 36 years and never had an issue….NC sent forms for paper file but NC e-file not ready till 2/24….see threads

That would mean moving from NC lol….lots of states are late…granted TurboTax should have made the designation that the Ready forms were paper file only….

I am currently having this issue as well, I tried 3 different times and it wouldn't go through. It told me all of my information was accurate & I'm from NC so I'm highly confused

I am having the same issue with Turbo Tax, from NC, however the payment for submission was already collected from the company.

Tax Year 2021 transmissions are not available.

Am I doing something wrong or do I just need to wait? My friend who paid with her refund did not have the issue.
