As a former programmer, the ONE thing that ALL businesses MUST pay attention to is cash flow. Doesn't matter if it's a software company or a medical office or a retail store. NUMBER ONE PRIORITY for ANY business is getting the money. If your software cannot guarantee that you can get the money then that bug, and it's fix, should ALWAYS be a top priority. Unless.... as some of the posts point out, the best alternative actually increases in the bottom line ($40 vs $25) then the response makes sense but poses an ethical question, yes?

Make sure you have no special characters in your address (Apt. 19, not #19, for instance) and that your Billing Address and return address match.  Try clicking around a bit and returning to this screen to retry.   Sometimes it's a bad connection (you're going to a Billing server).  You can try turning off your anti-virus programs.   Otherwise, you can Contact TurboTax Support to report a 'blocked payment issue'.   @PixelzAndBitz

It's annoying, yes. Most likely failed either the transaction processor (on intuit's back end); or either the zip code or the "name as shown on card" didn't exactly match. I always try to use ALL CAPS when entering name as shown on card, also include any middle initial or title or suffix, if on the card. Agree, Intuit should allow other payment means such as Zelle, Venmo, Paypa, etc., for the filing feel. I second the request 🙂 Give IRS a call in the morning, most likely they'll be very forgiving and understanding. Perhaps also set up and use your official irs.gov account (id.me best); it's a bit laborious through identification verification process but it's very powerful and helpful to make balance payments, payment plans, check official data, etc.; can also check SSA activity in real time, too.

I own rental property in Idaho, but I'm a resident of Oregon.  I need to file ID state form 43 for non residents.  When I get to the section that asks about QBI deduction in turbo tax desktop, the application incorrectly shows the federal amount as $0 and doesn't allow me to change this.  I've already filled out the federal return and it appears to correctly generate form 899A (1) which shows a federal QBI of $6082 on line 39.  I don't understand why the ID state version of turbo tax doesn't recognize the federal QBI amount and why it doesn't allow me to edit this field.   I can't edit this field in form mode either.   It insists this "federal amount" (of QBI) is 0, but it is not.  I think this is a bug.  See screenshot below.   For clarity, my only business income is from rental properties.

That worked.  I would have saved myself an hour or two had I known that...or if TT had fixed the issue. Thank you.

TurboTax does not calculate your RMD - your account admin usually does that.   They can tell you what your RMD is or you will find it on Form 5498.     To confirm the amount of your RMD, refer instead to your Form 5498. If you’ve reached the age for RMDs, and you didn’t receive Form 5498, contact your plan administrator (quickest way).   For more info about RMDs and when they're required to start, see What are required minimum distributions (RMD)?
You will have to contact the Indiana Department of Revenue https://www.in.gov/dor/.

Has anyone seen this before (see attached screenshot)? When I try to e‑file my California state return, I get a payment authorization error. I’ve confirmed that my billing address, card number, and CVV are all correct, and I’ve also tried three different credit cards with the same result.   Now, I am late with the filing. It would be great if they offer an additional payment option, such as PayPal, etc. Or like, why can't they bill me separately and just let me file? This is ridiculous!
