what make you think that the debt forgiveness isn't taxable? It doesn't matter whether secured or unsecured (like credit card debt). It would be nontaxable if you weren't liable for repayment  (box 5 on the form wouldn't be checked). On the cancelled debt worksheet, Part II is for secured debt. Leave blank for unsecured debt. There are other parts on the worksheet that, if they apply, would reduce or eliminate taxability. This would create Form 982, which would explain nontaxability   the IRS gets a copy of 1099-C, and its computers will be looking to see that you reported it, so just deleting the form will result in a notice.    do you have some other reason that it shouldn't be taxable

It is automatic based on your birthday; you don't need to make any extra entries.               You can find it on Line 13b of your Form 1040 and on Schedule 1A - Part V.

I e-filed 4/5 using web turbo tax (deluxe?).  It's 4/16.  I guess I'll wait a few more days.   Can I see "payment option for state"?  I'm pretty sure I said "take it from my bank account" both scheduled for 4/15.  So I was surprised I didn't see two withdrawals - one for fed (which it did) and the other from the state $10.  What's going on?  Anywhere to look what payment option I used for state filing?
Here's info on Requesting a Refund.  To downgrade, you needed to go to Tax Tools > Tools in the left-side menu, and choose 'Clear and Start Over' from the pop-up menu.      @alex3sal1025
There is a senior tax credit this year. How do I claim it?

I had a large capital loss in 2022, but have only been applying the $3000 per year since as an offset. I had used a prior program in 2020-2024, but added the 2022-2024 tax returns. It is not calculating any capital loss carry over and I cannot figure out how to adjust this. Please assist!
The IRS doesn't allow a payment date past 04/15 and since you have an e-file acceptance  showing payment scheduled - it was scheduled on time.   See IRS pay help
The IRS takes a few days to debit your account.  Check your 'Filing Instructions' page in your saved PDF copy.  You'll be credited for payment on the date you chose when filing.   @hewes-lisa
