The IRS/States is currently processing a high volume of e-filed returns, so it can take several days for your payments to go through. The IRS/States may debit the payment after the deadline. Also, it can take the banks another few days to post the debit to your account. As long as you filed you return or extension on or before April 15, 2026, and you selected April 15, 2026, or earlier as your payment date, you won't get penalized for late payment. If you don't see the debit in your bank account 7–10 days after their return has been accepted, call the IRS e-file Payment Services at 888-353-4537 or contact your state tax agency.

I would wait for a couple of days. Even though things are done electronically, there may be a backlog in the IRS computers this time of year that may slow down the debiting process. I have seen this happen numerous times in the past.
Since your state was debited, you can be sure the IRS has the same information. If you are concerned about a late payment, don't be concerned. Your return was time-stamped when you sent it, so your payment is not in arrears.

Since you claimed him a Dependent, all he needs to do is indicate on his rejected return that he's 'claimed on someone else's return' in the Personal Info section and re-file. Since you're claiming him, you can also claim his Education Expenses (if you didn't already and he had out-of-pocket expenses).
Here's more info on Claiming a Dependent.

Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.
Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

This error indicates a rejection in your tax return related to Form 8915-F, used for reporting qualified disaster or coronavirus-related retirement plan distributions. The field indicates a discrepancy in the prior year's selected distribution amount for SEP/SIMPLE/Roth groups.
It will likely be best to print your return for mailing. The IRS may not be quite prepared for this since the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) changes.
